Job summary

Stripe is hiring a Staff Full Stack Engineer for the Link Consumer team in the US. You will lead the design and delivery of new consumer capabilities, owning large, cross‑functional projects from definition to launch.

You will work across the stack, building services, APIs, and user interfaces, while guiding architecture and engineering best practices. You will balance high quality with speed, drive measurable product outcomes, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend and/or full‑stack software development experience with ownership of large, ambiguous systems end‑to‑end.
• Experience leading design and delivery of large, complex software projects from early definition through production launch.
• Strong full‑stack engineering skills including backend services and polished user experiences.
• Experience leading and unblocking a group of engineers on substantial projects as a senior individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy across Link Consumer, connecting near‑term product delivery to a durable engineering vision.
• Lead large, ambiguous 0→1 initiatives from problem definition through implementation and launch.
• Design, build, and maintain polished user experiences, reliable backend services, APIs, and systems.
• Identify technical risks early and create incremental plans to accelerate future work.
• Partner with Stripe engineering teams to align roadmaps and dependencies for Link Consumer.
• Champion pragmatic patterns across React/JavaScript/CSS/GraphQL and Ruby APIs.
• Ensure UI and backend components are reliable, secure, extensible, and accessible.
• Define operational processes and lead responses to production issues.
