Job summary

Sidecar Health is hiring for a Staff-level data platform engineer to own our data pipelines and integrations. You will lead the production services and APIs that power provider, benefit, and pricing data flows into Snowflake and out to partners, while building internal tools to automate operational work.

You will guide architectural decisions, unblock teammates, and drive reliability and scalability across large data sets, with a strong emphasis on data quality and auditable workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience with data pipelines at scale (ingestion, transformation, delivery).
• Experience building and maintaining third-party integrations with unreliable data.
• Track record as technical leader setting direction and unblocking teams.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into durable technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling for faster delivery, with verification.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve production services and APIs for data experiences including Snowflake ingestion and external delivery.
• Design, build, and operate resilient third-party integrations with robust error handling.
• Build internal tools that automate high-volume operational work with clear UX and audit trails.
• Ensure data platforms meet latency, quality, and auditability standards.
• Set technical direction for service architecture and integration patterns.
• Act as a technical unblocker across teams and help ships features faster.
• Drive reliability standards: SLOs, observability, testing, and safe deployments.
• Lead on-call and incident response, directing root-cause analyses.
