Job summary

Datadog in New York City is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for frontend leadership. You will design and deliver scalable UI features, mentor engineers, and drive major redesigns of core product experiences.

You bring 10+ years of engineering, 4+ years of tech leadership, strong React expertise, and a track record of A/B testing and high‑complexity browser apps. This role is hybrid in NYC with competitive salary and equity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• 4+ years of technical leadership experience, including coordinating across teams to ship products.
• Experience running a high volume of experimentation and iteration cycles (A/B testing).
• Strong UI/UX intuition, working with design/PM to deliver a shared vision.
• Led development of high‑complexity, high‑performance interactive browser applications, including architecture and optimization.
• Expertise with React.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technology powering next generation products.
• Coach and develop engineers at various levels.
• Lead redesigns of significant parts of the Datadog product and website.
• Own core customer experiences, including the first‑time user experience.
