Job summary

The San Francisco Compute Company is hiring a frontend engineer to build extremely high-fidelity, polished interfaces across our product. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and design partners and strive to raise the bar for visual detail and interaction quality.

You’ll operate autonomously, understanding business context to make good tradeoffs and grow into broader product ownership over time.

Qualifications

• Shipped genuinely complex frontend components with performance or real-time data considerations.
• Strong opinions about product quality and ability to fix issues in products used daily.
• Deep expertise in a modern JS framework: React, Vue, Svelte, or SolidJS.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the high-fidelity, polished interfaces in our product.
• Raise the bar for frontend craft, interaction design, motion, and performance under real usage.
• Partner with product and engineering to turn rough ideas into shippable experiences.
• Make sound architectural decisions for frontend systems that scale with the product.
• Mentor other engineers on design sensibility and frontend craft.
• Grow into broader product ownership, understanding customer needs and shipping end-to-end.
