Job summary

Okta is seeking a staff frontend engineer on the Agent Access Policies sub-team. This role focuses on enforcing least-privilege agentic access to enterprise resources, providing per-agent control over tools and agents.

You will design, implement, test, and monitor scalable software for secure automation scenarios. Okta Canada salary range is CAD 160,000— CAD 220,000 with equity (where applicable), bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building highly reliable, mission-critical software.
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript language, along with experience building Express and ReactJS applications.
• Experience shipping robust services and user interfaces for production-grade applications in an agile, product-oriented environment.
• Strong experience with cross browser compatibility and optimization techniques
• Strong understanding of debugging scalable, high performance web applications built with reusability and componentization in mind
• Experience working with cloud systems at scale.
• Understanding of web security attacks and prevention.
• Excellent grasp of software development and testing principles.
• Excellent communication skills and strong product sense.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, architect and build high-quality scalable software by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes
• Collaborate with product owners, UX, and engineering teams to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies
• Own your code at all stages of the lifecycle - design, implementation, test automation, delivery, and monitoring - to provide high-quality products to our customers.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also working down our existing technical debt
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence by improving standard methodologies, producing best in class of code, documentation, testing, and monitoring
• Conduct code reviews, retrospectives, and other continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with QA, Technical Support, Documentation, and UX team
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing
