Job summary

Reaxiomatic seeks a Staff Mechanical Systems Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of a complete fluid/structural subsystem for the first product. You will rapidly assemble systems using COTS and targeted development, balancing safety, quality, and program timelines.

You will drive architectural analysis from first principles through implementation, making pragmatic sourcing decisions and ensuring manufacturability within aggressive timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience rapidly developing and integrating systems with structural, fluid, and mechanical elements.
• Comfort with COTS sourcing and new component development; evaluate integration tradeoffs.
• Experience evaluating make-versus-buy decisions including vendor selection and onboarding.
• Experience contributing to or leading clean-sheet system development and architectural analysis.
• Ability to integrate subsystem design into a larger vehicle architecture with ownership of safety and performance.

Responsibilities

• Define the initial architecture of the major mechanical subsystem.
• Perform and guide key analyses to support design decisions.
• Select and integrate components, manage subsystem budget and schedule.
• Ensure the subsystem meets program intent and performance objectives.
• Coordinate with other engineers and vendors/subcontractors to mature the design.
