Job summary

Lunar is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer to own firmware development for our high-volume home energy products. You will work across RF, WiFi, and cloud-connected components, ensuring robust, scalable firmware from concept to production.

You will collaborate in a cross-functional team, participate in design reviews, and contribute to rapid iteration while prioritizing reliability and performance across platforms. Flexible remote/hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in a computer-engineering related or adjacent field or demonstrated commensurate ability.
• 5+ years experience delivering firmware for new products as part of a team.
• Proficiency in C, and working familiarity with Python. Rust knowledge is nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Develop wireless network communication solutions for high-volume products, ensuring continuous 24/7 reliability.
• Design firmware software for home energy product components: RF protocols, mobile interfaces, system diagnostics and updates.
• Drive system architecture discussions to achieve desired product functionality.
• Collaborate with team on design and development, including code reviews.
• Work with other disciplines to refine and improve product impact, speed to market, and reliability.
