Why Digital Sales at Altium: The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Field Application Engineering Team in the Digital Channel. The goal of this team is to provide top‑level technical service and support to prospects and customers, with a focus on PCB Design and Data Management. By delivering a uniquely helpful experience, we aim to improve product adoption, increase long‑term customer retention, and grow revenue through a positive perception of the Altium brand.

This is a full‑time position located in the Frisco, TX office.

A Day in the Life of Our Field Application Engineer

• Perform technical discovery engagements, technical sales presentations, and product (value proposition) demonstrations.
• Create and deliver live and on‑demand quality technical content to support sales & marketing campaigns and initiatives.
• Quickly grasp client technical and business challenges while establishing personal and company credibility with prospects, customers, and partners.
• As a technical expert, reduce the sales cycle by helping the Sales Team drive the process for assigned opportunities and accounts.
• Expand the sales pipeline within targeted accounts and serve as the main technical liaison.
• Participate in strategic/tactical planning related to closing sales/business opportunities.
• Drive adoption and promote the value of Altium’s product portfolio by increasing subscription commitments, renewals, and brand loyalty.
• Continuously expand technical knowledge by exploring technical content and the Altium product roadmap.
• Leverage knowledge of competitor products, features, technologies, and business context to strategically position Altium product capabilities to prospects and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• Desire to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment with passion for Altium’s goals, vision, products, and solutions.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Experience in technical content creation, demonstrations, and presenting technical materials.
• Excellent group and interpersonal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of PCB Design, Data Management, and Cloud Solutions.
• Desirable experience with PCB Simulation & Analysis (SPICE, Signal Integrity, Power Integrity).
• Ability to match business needs and drivers with the correct technical solution.
• Capability to perform mid‑level application engineering, support, and sales functions as needed.
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform tasks proactively without direct supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel with short notice.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual pay range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000. The position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Final offer amounts will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skill set of the candidate.
