The Field Application Engineer will work intimately with TE Connectivity’s Medical customers. This individual will serve as a technical resource for our customers’ engineers and program managers by providing technical expertise, design work, product application information, and general support for TE Connectivity’s Medical customers. The selected engineer will be a significant interface between TE Connectivity’s sales, engineering, product management organizations and our customers.

The Medical business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for an experienced Field Application Engineer in the USA to support customers throughout the Americas region specifically on our Electrophysiology product capabilities. The business unit has determined that, for our key customers, having knowledgeable engineering presence locally is critical to long-term success in supporting our customers’ product and design needs and in advancing our Company’s interests.

This is a remote position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be the initial point of contact for the customer’s local engineering group
  • Work with AMs to actively uncover and convert new pipeline opportunities driving and coordinating samples that may be needed
  • Gain a solid understanding of the customer’s product set and future roadmap
  • Partner with AMs and GAMs to execute account plans
  • Work with PMs to identify new product propositions based on customer needs
  • Proactively participate in technical seminars
  • Actively contribute to new product development opportunities for TE at the customer with the ability to provide conceptual design modeling
  • Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers
  • Penetrate customers’ design cycle to be involved in the early stages of new product/platform planning
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure that they are meeting the customers’ needs and be a conduit to the customer
  • Represent and be an advocate for the customer
What your background should look like:
  • BS degree in Engineering required (Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
  • At least 7 years of engineering experience in Medical Device
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes for catheter shafts, integrated electronics and automated product assembly desired
  • Experience in development engineering and participation in full product development cycle
  • Prefer candidates with knowledge and experience of Electrophysiology market in medical devices
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal, business acumen & negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required, mainly regionally
  • Successful candidates will have strong ability to work independently
  • Outstanding networking, influencing, and listening skills
  • Experience reading/interpreting production level drawings

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $129,600 - $194,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
