Job summary

Apple Inc. in New York City, NY is seeking a Staff Experience Designer to own the AI Evaluation Platform end to end. You’ll be the first designer on the platform, shaping how teams evaluate AI and agentic systems at scale.

You’ll collaborate with researchers and engineers, build a design system, and translate complex evaluation concepts into accessible interfaces. This role blends research, prototyping, and product design to define patterns as the platform evolves.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing digital products for technical users.
• Portfolio with at least one case study from problem framing to shipped outcome.
• Experience designing dashboards and dense information with uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Design the path from a vague question to a running evaluation for non-experts.
• Make dense results legible: scores, distributions, and uncertainty.
• Define how to inspect multi-step agent behavior and diagnose failures.
• Collaborate with research scientists to surface techniques in the product.
• Build and maintain the design system as the first designer on the team.
• Prototype against real data to validate ideas before building.
• Run research directly with engineers, scientists, and practitioners.
