Job summary

City of Sioux Falls Engineering Department is seeking a Staff Engineer focused on Traffic/Transportation Operations and Planning to help shape the future of South Dakota’s largest community.

You will research, develop, and maintain projects, review plans and permits, and coordinate design and bidding processes with stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or transportation engineering is required, with FE desirable for C42 and SD PE license required for C42C.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or transportation engineering.
• Fundamentals of Engineering desirable for C42.
• Professional Engineer license in SD required for C42C.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and maintain engineering projects and programs including design standards and specifications.
• Review plans, specifications, and plats from outside parties and assess acceptability.
• Design plans, develop specifications and cost estimates for construction projects.
