Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the Solana staking strategy, including validator operations, protocol evolution, and ecosystem influence. You will combine Solana protocol mastery with hands-on engineering to shape Coinbase's staking trajectory.

You will collaborate with product and business teams, drive scalable staking integrations, and mentor engineers while engaging with the wider Solana community.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with extensive Solana protocol experience.
• Production-level proficiency in Rust and/or Go for distributed infra at scale.
• Established presence in the Solana ecosystem with public speaking or governance participation.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year technical strategy for Solana staking across validator performance and protocol participation.
• Lead engineering efforts to achieve industry-leading APY via validator optimization and stake tooling.
• Represent Coinbase in the Solana ecosystem and maintain relationships with the Solana Foundation and validators.
• Partner with Retail and Institutional Staking teams to architect scalable staking integrations.
• Build production infrastructure for validator operations and mentor engineers.
