Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise-level solutions for our Pricing organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on Insurance / Finance related applications. This position involves hands-on technical leadership, innovation, and collaboration to align technology solutions with business goals.

Position Description

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product experts, and other technical leaders, to deliver end-to-end pricing solutions that will transform how GEICO develops and manages Pricing strategies. You will play a key role in architecture, development, and deployment of solutions, ensuring best practices in software design, security, and performance. This role combines technical expertise with strong functional knowledge of Finance Systems.

Position Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer for Pricing, you will:

  1. Lead the design and development of resilient and highly scalable solutions for the Pricing teams.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals and requirements.
  3. Ensure seamless integration of financial data from ERP systems, sub-ledgers, and other enterprise sources to support the Pricing system requirements.
  4. Mentor other engineers and share best practices to improve processes within and across teams.
  5. Oversee system-wide technical initiatives, migrations, performance tuning, process automation, and develop clear documentation of systems and processes.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of professional experience in software development with a deep understanding of object-oriented design, with expertise in Java or C#.
  • 10+ years of experience working with ERP Systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Workday).
  • 5+ years of Insurance systems experience is a plus.
  • Experience building custom business applications across the full stack, from backend logic to user interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data integration frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of security protocols: Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth.
  • Effective communication skills with various audiences.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Annual Salary

$105,000.00 - $260,000.00

The salary range is a guideline; final offer factors include role responsibilities, experience, education, work location, market, and business considerations.
