GEICO is seeking a Staff Engineer in Platform Security Engineering focused on encryption and tokenization. You will design and build data-protection platforms, lead key-management solutions, and drive secure coding and architectural excellence across teams.

Strong cryptography experience and cloud proficiency are essential. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with compliance and product groups, and help advance scalable, secure data protection within a major insurer environment.

Qualifikationen

• Strong understanding of cryptographic encryption, tokenization, and Key Management Systems (KMS).
• Experience designing secure, scalable data protection solutions (data at rest encryption).
• Proficient in production-grade services and Go programming.
• Knowledge of cryptography standards and libraries (OpenSSL, Tink, JCE).
• Experience with cloud environments and distributed systems reliability (SRE).
• Familiar with CI/CD and IaC tooling (Bazel, Terraform, Argo).

• Lead design, development, and evolution of encryption and tokenization capabilities.
• Drive hands-on implementation of secure data protection in production systems.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, observability, and auditable logging.
• Collaborate with compliance, data governance, and product teams on cryptographic solutions.
• Propose scalable, resilient architectures for key management and data protection workflows.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding, design quality, and operational practices.
• Align encryption strategies with platform goals and business needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and developer experience.
