Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah, is seeking a Staff Logistics Engineer (level 5) to join our team. The role focuses on sustainment analyses, LOR, and IPS elements; requires US citizenship and DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • STEM degree with 12+ years (BS) or master’s with 10+ or PhD with 8+ years.

  • 4+ years interpreting engineering drawings and product data sheets for electrical components.
  • 4+ years identifying maintenance requirements, spares, tools, calibration, and manpower.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Logistics Engineer (level 5) to join the team. This opportunity is in Roy, Utah.

What you will get to do:

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform Logistics Product Support Analyses to define parts, equipment, skills, and activities required for system sustainment and operational availability.

  • Conduct trade studies and develop sustainment strategies that minimize logistics footprint while meeting performance requirements.

  • Lead Level of Repair (LOR) and Logistics Support Analyses for the SLCM-N program.

  • Collect, track, and analyze usage rates, maintenance trends, inventory levels, and reliability data to inform sustainment decisions.

  • Identify maintenance issues, recommend process improvements, and define maintenance objectives and requirements.

  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to exchange data, define calibration needs, and support field support requirements.

  • Prepare and present technical information, analyses, and recommendations in internal and customer meetings.

  • Manage repair reporting, supplier liaison, and outcomes for customer-initiated repairs.

  • Contribute to proposal development and cost estimating for logistics support.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable military logistics standards and documentation (e.g., MIL-STD-1388, MIL-HDBK-502).

  • Lead development of a product support plan demonstrating solutions for all 12 IPS elements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 12 years of experience; or master’s degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain both Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • 4 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and product data sheets for electrical components.

  • 4 years of experience identifying scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, determining associated spares, tools, calibration, and manpower, and understand repair processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • Familiarity with Mil-STD-1388 type work products.

  • Experience developing logistics work products on Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

  • Knowledge of Integrated Product Support analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, MIL-HDBK-502, or TA-STD-0017.

  • Proficiency with logistics product database tools such as EAGLE, SLICWave, PowerLogJ, or comparable software.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,800.00 - $172,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such a scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
