Fanatics Betting & Gaming seeks a Staff Engineer, Client Services to drive scalable, high‑impact features for the Sportsbook app. You will lead planning, design, and delivery across multiple client‑facing teams, mentor engineers, and set technical direction with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing and building highly scalable backend services.
• Expertise with Kotlin as the primary development language, OR deep knowledge of Java with a strong willingness to transition to and develop primarily in Kotlin.
• Proven experience with modern backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar.
• Experience with Coroutines and Dependency Injection.
• Team‑first mentality with a drive for excellence.
• Able to communicate complex technical subjects to diverse audiences.
• Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM.
• Bachelor’s degree or professional certification or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning, design, and technical development of major product features from inception through deployment.
• Own and drive technical excellence in code quality, design, and testing across the Client Services domain.
• Conduct thorough technical design and code reviews to maintain high quality and security.
• Mentor engineers across multiple teams and promote technical ownership.
• Define engineering principles and drive adoption across client teams.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of multi‑team projects with cross-functional coordination.
• Define and lead testing strategy for complex client-side features.
• Improve observability, reliability, and system resilience; stress-test architectures.
• Advance processes for handling high-pressure incidents and changes.
• Develop, test, document, and deploy high-quality software into production.
• Understand the industry, product, feature set and roadmap.
• Collaborate with product and design to guide technology decisions.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to OE by troubleshooting issues.
• Be open to travel for conferences, meetings, and team events.
