Job summary

Postman, the world’s leading API platform, seeks a Staff Engineer to set long-term architecture vision for the Business Platform. You will lead multiple teams, ensure secure, scalable services, and own critical operational KPIs like availability and uptime.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in backend engineering, strong identity management knowledge, and proven leadership with a growth mindset. This is a senior, hands-on role based in the San Francisco area.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience with identity management standards (SAML, SCIM, SSO, OAuth, FIDO).
• 10+ years hands-on coding and 10+ years building end-to-end back-end services.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional projects with meaningful business impact.
• Exceptional problem solving, design and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for architecture and ensure scalable, secure back-end systems for hundreds of millions of developers.
• Identify dependencies and review designs to ensure architectural alignment and business support.
• Lead multiple projects with key stakeholders and drive delivery.
• Build an operational center of excellence with observability, scale, performance, and quality focus.
• Be hands-on and lead by example, mentoring senior engineers and growing leadership.
