Braun Intertec is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Urbandale, IA office. The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company-provided training and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various field and laboratory tests
• Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope and with engineers on larger projects
• Prepare proposals for geotechnical and material testing projects
• Manage basic geotechnical and material testing projects
• Maintain client communications and build client relations
• Develop solutions, make recommendations, and prepare engineering reports for review
• Observe construction in progress and report to the project engineer
• Gain experience relevant to obtaining a Professional Engineer license

Required Skills:

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Perform field-related services at least 50% of the time
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Travel up to 25% of the time

Required Experience:

• Prior professional consulting experience preferred
• Proficiency in field testing and report writing
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, materials emphasis, or related field
• Possess EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
