Job summary

Circana is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our massively parallel processing database engine (Whitebox). You will bridge HPC and big data systems, delivering low-latency, high-throughput kernels across large clusters and real-time analytics.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or related field; MS preferred for senior roles.
• 6+ years of production C++ experience (C++17/20/23).
• Experience with MPI + OpenMP for distributed computing.
• Knowledge of vectorization and SIMD intrinsics.
• Experience with database internals and HPC systems.
• Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural choices for the distributed database kernel.
• Deliver high-performance backend code in C++20/23.
• Design and implement MPI-based execution engines across nodes.
• Optimize hardware performance with SIMD and cache locality.
• Design low-latency cluster communications (RDMA/DPDK).
• Develop in-database ML/analytics components.
