Credit Genie is building a mobile‑first financial wellness platform focused on safe money movement and regulated financial operations. As Staff Engineer, you will set the technical direction for the money movement platform, own critical integrations, and raise the engineering bar across the team to ensure reliability and scale.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive incident response and observability practices in a fast‑growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building, and scaling high‑performance backend systems.
• Experience with financial platform systems at scale: payments, money movement, ledgering or banking infra.
• Deep fluency in correctness patterns: idempotency, distributed transactions, auditability.
• Track record of setting technical direction and roadmaps.
• High ownership, end-to-end responsibility including incident response.
• Expertise in distributed systems architecture and productionization.
• Strong data privacy, compliance, and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and long‑term roadmap for money movement systems.
• Design for exact‑once, idempotent operations and auditable state transitions.
• Own backend systems end‑to‑end from deployment to production operations.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and establish testing and observability standards.
• Own bank and card integrations with reliable, observable third‑party connections.
• Own production reliability and drive post‑incident hardening and monitoring.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, compliance, risk, data science, and partners.
