Overview
At Early Warning, we protect and enable the U.S. financial system with cutting-edge solutions and trusted payments capabilities. This position is located in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York and follows a hybrid work model to promote collaboration.

Essential Functions
- Build data strategy for broad or complex requirements with forward-looking approaches that go beyond the direct team and solve large open-ended problems.
- Participate in the strategic development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects and programs.
- Drive all aspects of technical and data architecture, design, prototyping, and implementation in support of product needs and the overall technology data strategy.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise to build a technical plan and backlog of stories, and follow through on execution from design to production delivery.
- Guide a broad functional area and lead efforts with the functional team and the team’s overall planning.
- Represent engineering in cross-functional sessions and present sound arguments to persuade others, adapting strategies to influence outcomes.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to conceptualize and build new features and create product descriptions.
- Own features or systems and define their long-term health, while improving the health of surrounding systems.
- Assist Support and Operations teams in identifying and quickly resolving production issues.
- Develop and implement tests to ensure quality, performance, and scalability of the application.
- Seek opportunities to improve engineering and data standards, tooling, and processes.
- Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 8 or more years of relevant experience; focus on complex data platforms and distributed systems is preferred.
- 7+ years in developing complex data platforms, distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, and microservices.
- 6+ years in data warehouse and big data platforms, real-time and batch processing, and data standards.
- 4+ years in development of business intelligence solutions.
- 2+ years in development/operationalization of AI/ML models and lifecycle activities (feature engineering, data pipelines, model monitoring).
- Proven experience delivering business-critical systems to market and ability to influence in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience designing/developing scalable systems and data warehouse implementations (e.g., Star/Snowflake schemas) with SQL Server or equivalent; experience with Big Data (HDFS, ElasticSearch); ETL tooling (IBM Infosphere or equivalent); reusable frameworks.
- Experience with data science tools (Python, Spark, PySpark, R) and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with cloud infrastructures (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding).
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum/LEAN, and DevOps practices; strong attention to detail; background check and drug screen completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, SageMaker, Scikit, PyCharm).
- Big Data platforms (Cloudera, S3); database platforms with performance and replication considerations (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Programming languages (Python, PySpark, R); knowledge of Aerospike, Scality S3, ElasticSearch.
- Monitoring/observability experience (AppDynamics or similar).
- Knowledge of ACH/EFT and real-time payment networks (RTP, FedNow).
- FinTech experience and Kubernetes familiarity.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is primarily in an office environment, sitting and using a computer for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Compensation and Benefits
The base pay scale for this position varies by location. For Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL, the range is $145,000 – $186,000 per year. For New York, NY and San Francisco, CA, the range is $174,000 – $223,000 per year. Candidates may be eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits. This pay scale is subject to change and may not reflect the actual compensation offered. All compensation decisions consider factors such as job scope, market rates, geographic location, education, experience, and skills. The company supports wage equity and does not base pay on protected characteristics.
