Job summary

International Code Council is seeking an experienced engineer to determine code compliance of building products, develop ICC-ES acceptance criteria, and write evaluation reports. You will evaluate technical data, prepare reports, and support building departments across the United States.

The role requires professional engineering licensure, a civil/structural engineering degree, and at least five years in construction or code development. Travel to meetings and conferences is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires professional engineering license and a degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Minimum five years in construction, building code development/enforcement, or product testing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate test reports, calculations, and technical data for evaluation-applicants.
• Develop criteria for accepting innovative building products/materials/methods.
• Prepare correspondence and draft reports on code compliance of products.
• Provide expert assistance to U.S. building departments.
• Attend ICC-ES Evaluation Committee hearings.
• Represent ICC-ES at technical meetings and with government/industry.
• Stay updated on building construction developments.
• Travel to conferences/meetings/speaking engagements.
