International Code Council–ICC is seeking a civil/structural engineer to assess code compliance of building products and develop ICC-ES acceptance criteria. The role involves drafting evaluation reports and advising code officials across the United States.

Requires a PE license or equivalent, at least five years in construction, code development, or product testing, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Travel is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Professional licensure to practice engineering (PE).
• 5+ years of experience in construction, building code development/enforcement, or product testing.
• Experience with modern design and construction methods and materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems and work in a team.
• Knowledge of codes and design standards; test standards/methodologies.
• Quality control for manufacturing of building products.
• Participation in relevant technical organizations and committees.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong customer service ethos.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate test reports, calculations, and data submitted by applicants.
• Develop technical criteria for acceptance of innovative building products and methods.
• Prepare correspondence and draft reports on code compliance.
• Provide expert assistance to building departments nationwide.
• Participate in ICC-ES Evaluation Committee hearings.
• Represent ICC-ES at meetings with government and industry.
• Keep abreast of developments in building construction field.
• Travel to conferences, meetings, and speaking engagements.
• Perform other duties as directed.
• Evaluate products such as glass guardrails, SIPs, metal panels, MgO boards, plastics, and more.
