Job description

Hypori, Inc. is a high-growth cybersecurity SaaS company transforming how organizations think about secure mobility. Our virtual workspace platform enables users to access enterprise apps and data from any mobile device—without data on the endpoint and with total personal privacy.

Overview

We are looking for a Staff Scalability Engineer with expertise in Cloud systems (preferably AWS) to lead optimization, monitoring, and tuning our existing cloud infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in identifying and implementing changes to our application’s infrastructure and architecture to improve platform availability and scalability. This role will work across multiple, small, cross‑functional engineering groups to help our application meet rapidly growing, global demand.

Responsibilities
  • Lead capacity planning, autoscaling, and performance optimization across our application.
  • Define and enforce best practices for scalability, reliability, observability, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and propose improvements to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering teams on the implementation of micro‑service infrastructure (API gateways, containerization strategies, etc.) with an eye toward data contract and scalability best practices.
  • Implement and improve metrics systems to diagnose performance bottlenecks using modern tooling (e.g., CloudWatch, X‑Ray, OpenTelemetry, Splunk).
  • Partner with engineering teams to help enforce SLOs/SLAs.
  • Lead incident response initiatives for high‑severity cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Provide solutions to enable production teams to measure and predict cloud costs against resource utilization.
  • Participate periodically in an on‑call, production assistance and escalation schedule.
  • Use LLM tools such as Claude Code for automation and support.
Qualifications
  • Minimal 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or commensurate experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Deep familiarity with AWS native services, particularly: ECS, EC2, EKS, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, KMS, RDS and related configurations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies.
  • Strong scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
  • Experience in designing or using profiling tools and performance test frameworks (e.g., AppDynamics, Jaeger, VisualVM).
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, caching, event‑driven architecture, and performance tuning.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (BitBucket, GitHub, Jenkins).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic abilities in large‑scale distributed environments.
  • Experience in high‑traffic, globally distributed environments.
  • Experience with zero‑downtime migrations and multi‑region deployments.
  • Must be a US citizen or green card holder.
Attributes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self‑directed, capable of working with multiple, small engineering teams.
  • AWS Professional certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
  • High level of integrity and a keen sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Able to work in multiple, concurrent, complex software projects.
Pay range

$174,600 - $220,000 USD
