Job summary

Pinterest seeks a Staff Engineer to lead the App Promotion engineering team as it scales from beta to GA. You will partner with Ads, ML, Measurement, and Product to drive robust experimentation, accurate reporting, and scalable models across back-end services and mobile clients.

This US-based role requires coordinating with cross-functional leaders to align on strategy, architecture, and execution while mentoring a team of 5–6 engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of engineering management experience leading full stack and/or mobile teams shipping production systems.
• Experience in performance, growth, or ads engineering, preferably with app install or engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional projects with Product, Data, Design, and other teams.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to dive deep into architecture, data quality, and measurement details.
• Excellent communication skills to explain strategy and tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the App Promotion engineering team from beta through GA, delivering on time and with quality.
• Partner with Product, Design, and PMM to define and refine the advertiser experience for App Promotion in Ads Manager.
• Coordinate with Ads Quality, ML, and infra teams to ensure robust serving, modeling, and experimentation.
• Collaborate with Measurement, Reporting, and Partner teams to close attribution gaps and ensure trusted reporting.
• Establish and maintain engineering practices: design reviews, experimentation standards, on-call, monitoring, and incident response.
• Hire, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineers and foster a culture of inclusion and excellence.
