Patronus AI, Inc. is hiring an Engineer to build high-quality simulations used to train and evaluate AI agents. You will own end-to-end agent environments, collaborating with researchers and platform engineers to turn specifications into robust software and realistic simulations.

Your work drives stress-testing of next-generation AI agents, advancing safe, human-aligned general intelligence. Office-based role requiring on-site attendance five days a week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years software engineering in full-stack roles, ideally in startups or high-velocity teams.
• Experience owning complex products end-to-end, from ambiguous requirements through production launch.
• Experience with real enterprise SaaS tools (CRMs, ticketing systems, billing).
• Strong engineering judgment around correctness, failure modes, edge cases, and adversarial behavior.

Responsibilities

• Build RL environments end-to-end — frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows — using React/TypeScript, Next.js, Python, and SQLite.
• Own delivery of the environments, collaborating with researchers, SME, and QA to ensure realism and detect issues.
• Maintain internal tooling and platforms, identifying gaps and contributing improvements.
• Define environment requirements, coverage, edge cases, and adversarial scenarios.
• Act as a power user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex) and extend tooling.
