Job summary

MongoDB Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to provide technical direction for a new platform enabling AI applications on MongoDB. You will lead efforts to scale deployment, improve performance, and ensure reliability of distributed systems infrastructure for this product.

Based in the New York area, you will work in a hybrid or in-office model, collaborating with product management, design, and other teams to deliver high-impact solutions and mentor engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong background in building core components for high-scale compute and data distributed systems.
• 8+ years of distributed systems experience and interest in Python, Go and Java.
• Proven ability to design, write, test, debug, and tune distributed software in large code bases.
• Experience leading large distributed systems or databases projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and engineering to define the first version and future evolution of the service.
• Design, build and deliver core platform components with other teams.
• Shape architecture, perform code reviews and improve developer experience as teams grow.
• Mentor engineers and own projects from conception to delivery.
