Job summary

Edwin in Santa Monica is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead full-stack development across the Edwin product line, including the design and architecture of large-scale distributed systems.

You will partner with product, engineering, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions while driving business outcomes; this role reports directly to the CTO and requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience including leadership roles.
• Experience designing AI-enabled distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and React.
• Proven track record delivering secure, scalable systems in startup or scale-up environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack development, ensuring scalable, maintainable code.
• Architect AI-enabled distributed systems with emphasis on security and performance.
• Provide technical leadership aligning strategy with business goals while managing scope and timelines.
• Enforce best practices for architecture, security, SOC 2, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Drive continuous delivery, observability, incident management, and mentoring.
