We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with experience in device driver testing and embedded systems. In this role you will be responsible for validating low level software interacting directly with hardware components and ensuring that our products are thoroughly tested and deliveries are high-quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust and scalable test methodologies that meet the high-quality standards our customers expect. Come join our team in Austin, TX!


Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and execute comprehensive test plans (both black box and white box) for new features and products
  • Translate requirements into test cases and incorporate customer feedback into test plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for test strategy, reviews, and validation cycles
  • Automate tests and integrate them into a Continuous Integration (CI) environment
  • Identify, analyze and debug issues and assist with triage/debugging in collaboration with software teams
  • Communicate test results to developers and stakeholders to aid in defect resolution
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 6+ years of experience, OR
  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 4+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python/shell, C, C++)
  • Solid understanding of software testing and test automation principles
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of the Windows and/or Linux OS including architecture and driver integration
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of PC software such BIOS, Drivers, ACPI
  • Experience working with various MCU and DSP cores/processors
  • Experience with Jira, SVN/Git, and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with defect management practices
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
