Stryker in Michigan is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead design, development, and documentation of embedded software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with FDA guidance and internal SDLC processes.

You will partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Advanced Operations to deliver reliable software for product configuration, testing, and in-line manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 4+ years of professional work experience.
• Experience in C/C++ software development for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with Python development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software and supporting documentation for medical devices in line with lifecycle processes and FDA guidance.
• Collaborate with R&D, Systems Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Advanced Operations to enable product development.
• Support legacy products through root-cause investigation and defect resolution.
• Plan and execute software verification and validation activities.
• Collaborate with Advanced Operations, Manufacturing, and suppliers to review fixture software and ensure quality standards.
