Overview:

Lucid Vehicles is seeking a talented Staff Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of software for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) nodes using NXP NCJ29D6 chips (also known as Ranger 5). This role requires expertise in board bring-up, C programming, CAN protocol, and FreeRTOS. Knowledge of Ultra-Wideband technology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement embedded software for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) nodes using NXP NCJ29D6 chips (Ranger 5).
  2. Perform board bring-up activities including hardware validation and debugging.
  3. Design and develop device drivers and firmware for embedded systems.
  4. Ensure software meets performance, power consumption, and memory usage requirements.
  5. Integrate and optimize software for real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS).
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UWB features into the overall system architecture.
  7. Debug and troubleshoot software issues related to UWB nodes and other embedded systems.
  8. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  9. Write and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans.
  10. Stay updated with the latest embedded technologies and industry trends.
  11. Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in embedded software development.
  3. Strong proficiency in C programming language.
  4. Experience with board bring-up, including hardware validation and debugging.
  5. In-depth knowledge of the CAN protocol and its application in embedded systems.
  6. Experience with real-time operating systems, particularly FreeRTOS.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  8. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  9. Knowledge of Ultra-Wideband technology is highly desirable.
  10. Experience with NXP NCJ29D6 chips (Ranger 5) is a plus.
  11. Understanding of device drivers and firmware development is a plus.
  12. Familiarity with UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and DoIP (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol) is a plus.
  13. Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
