Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to develop high-quality software for our drone and sensor platforms. You will research, design, and lead integration of guidance, navigation, and control subsystems, communications, and payload management.

You will collaborate with external partners, manage data platforms and ground control systems, and contribute to development processes and lifecycle management of advanced embedded systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in embedded software product development with real-time experience preferred.
• 2+ years of control systems experience or advanced degree equivalent.
• Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, or similar software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software for drone and sensor platforms; lead integration of GNC, communications, and payload management subsystems.
• Manage interfaces with external partners, suppliers, and enterprise data platforms; ground control systems.
• Contribute to development processes and lifecycle management of advanced embedded systems.
