Job summary

John Deere in Waterloo, IA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for tractor drive strategies. You will work within a global team, implementing embedded code in MATLAB Simulink and C, and participate in testing across HIL, SIL, and VIL environments.

The role requires 3+ years in embedded software and control systems, with strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills. Onsite position with a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with minimum of 3 years developing embedded applications using MATLAB Simulink and C.
• Demonstrated experience with minimum of 3 years developing and troubleshooting complex control systems.
• Demonstrated experience controlling engine and transmission systems to meet vehicle performance requirements.
• Experienced operating and developing control systems for large agriculture equipment.
• Demonstrated experience working with Real Time Embedded Operating Systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working in a global team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in MATLAB Simulink and C as part of a global team executing tractor drive strategy.
• Be responsible for testing software in multiple environments HIL, SIL, and VIL.
• Be responsible for collaborating with system engineers to design software that meets customer needs.
• Be responsible for tuning vehicle performance to achieve efficiency and productivity goals.
• Analyze issues and drive for resolution of issues found during lab and field testing.
