Meet the team:

The Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the design, implementation and sustaining of all electronics at Dexcom, including wearable transmitter and handheld receiver. The team also provides specific platforms for advanced research projects and tools to support firmware development and testing. The Electrical Systems Engineer is relied upon to inform architectural decisions and issue resolutions supported by modeling and simulation.

Where you come in:

  • You will develop system-level models encompassing many aspects touching the electronic assembly, including signal acquisition and processing, power consumption, thermal and functional modeling.
  • You will work closely with the electrical, firmware and algorithms engineering teams to build and validate your models.
  • Your models and simulations will help inform decisions regarding system architecture of new products, touching to electrical, mechanical, firmware, and algorithms.
  • You will identify and analyze key parameters that affect functionality, performance, and power across all stages of the product’s life and various use-cases and contribute to their optimization.
  • You will participate in sustaining activities by providing modeling and simulation of issues to help in their resolution.

What makes you successful:

  • You bring a breadth of experience in electronic systems and design, including signal acquisition, signal processing, mixed-signal, ultra-low power embedded systems and wireless communication (specifically BLE and NFC).
  • You have in-depth knowledge and expertise in a wide range of modeling and simulation, including behavioral, functional and signal acquisition and processing.
  • You’re proficient with modeling and simulation tools like Matlab / Simulink or Scilab / Xcos.
  • You have experience with methods for sensitivity analysis and with Monte-Carlo simulation.
  • You can function autonomously and at the same time collaborate proactively cross-functionally.
  • You have strong analytical and excellent verbal communication skills to explain technical specifics.
  • You can effectively communicate about technical topics with a wide range of audience, including leadership.

Experience and Education
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
Exempt Salary Details:
  • The annual base salary range for this role is $128,600 to $214,400. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
