CesiumAstro, located in Westminster, Colorado, seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of board-level and system-level electronics for advanced RF communications systems. The role emphasizes rigorous design reviews, testing, and collaboration across teams in a startup-like environment.

You will lead hardware architecture, perform trades, guide HDI layout, and drive designs from concept to production.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience leading hardware design with thorough design reviews.
• Expertise in digital and mixed-signal electronics (FPGA, ADCs/DACs, telemetry).
• Experience in design phase ownership including trade studies and part selection.
• Ability to bring hardware designs through production and deployment.
• PCB layout with HDI stackups and high-speed routing.
• Experience using SI/PI tools (Ansys SIwave, Mentor HyperLynx).
• Lab bring-up and verification experience.
• EMI/EMC concepts and mitigation knowledge.
• Understanding of military/DoD standards.

In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of board-level and system-level electronics hardware design and implementation for advanced RF communication systems. We are seeking adigital-focused Principal Electrical Design Engineer with deep expertise in electrical design and test, as well as the ability to help drive overall program direction. This position requires strong attention to detail, rigorous design reviews, and a solid understanding of relevant industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Significant experiencedesigning electronics with rigor, in teams that value thorough analysis and testing.
• Expertisein aspects of digital and mixed-signal electronics, such as signal integrity, implementing FPGAs on boards, ADCs/DACs, and telemetry subsystems.
• Experience owning the design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, key part selection, and detailed design.
• Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
• Expertisein PCB layout, including high-density interconnect (HDI)stackupdesign and high-speed routing.
• Experience running board-level signal integrity and/or power integrity simulation tools such as AnsysSIwave, ADSSIPro, or MentorHyperlynx.
• Proven success in debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
• Depthin point-of-loadpower converterdesign for digital boards.
• Strong working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical, that guides hardware design and system design.
• Extensive lab experience for bring-up and verification of new hardware.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and design to mitigate these effects.
• Understanding ofmilitary and/orDO standards.
• Experience with design qualificationand production lifecycle.
• Has ledsmall teams of hardware engineers to develop multi-module assemblies, including hardware architecture, requirements, make/buy decisions, and interconnects.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience with RF design and test equipment.
• Crafting proposals for new business opportunities.

$158,000 - $189,000 a year
