Job summary

Staff Electrical Engineer – Medical Device (San Diego, CA) is a hands-on role working on the development of Intravascular Ultrasound Systems. You will conceptualize, design, and develop analog and digital PCBAs and FPGAs, collaborating with electrical, transducer, system, and ultrasound engineers.

You’ll lead design qualification, testing, and documentation, refine requirements with cross-functional teams, and drive formal verification and validation plans with Quality and Regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in design and development of analog and digital electronics and FPGAs, preferably medical electronics.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing, designing, and developing analog and digital PCBAs and FPGAs.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to refine design requirements for intravascular ultrasound devices.
• Specifying and qualifying components and design tools based on cost, availability, and reliability; integrating into new and existing designs.
• Performing tests and debugging while maintaining documentation aligned with the quality system.
• Leading verification and validation plans in collaboration with Quality and Regulatory teams and supporting transfer to manufacturing.
