Apera is seeking a Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer to own avionics and ground-support hardware for a fleet operating at global scale. You’ll lead design from concept through validation, release and production ramp, partnering with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality and supply-chain teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, 5+ years in hardware design for shipped or fielded products, and strong analog, digital and power fundamentals, plus solid lab

Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer, Avionics Hardware

We are partnering with a fast-growing autonomous logistics company to hire a senior electrical engineer to own avionics and ground-support hardware for a fleet operating at global scale.

What You’ll Do

• Own avionics electrical subsystems from concept through validation, release, production ramp and field support
• Design PCBAs spanning digital, analog, sensing, communications and power circuits
• Run board bring-up, write validation plans and drive design changes from measured data
• Lead root-cause investigations and own corrective actions through to verified release
• Partner with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality and supply-chain teams
• Mentor engineers and raise design and release standards across the team

What You’ll Bring

• BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years designing and releasing hardware for products that have shipped or operated in the field
• Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, mixed-signal and power circuits
• Strong lab skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, electronic loads)
• Working knowledge of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal behavior and manufacturability
• Strong root-cause analysis skills and clear documentation habits

Nice to Have

• Avionics, aerospace, drones, robotics or other high-reliability hardware
• Altium Designer; Python or MATLAB; embedded C/C++
• CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, GNSS, motor control or battery systems
• DO-160, HALT, vibration or thermal cycling familiarity
