Job summary

Kennedy Jenks seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater facilities nationwide. You will support senior engineers, create construction drawings, and contribute to project planning in a collaborative, team‑driven environment.

Ideal candidates hold a 4+ year background in power systems, possess EIT in CA, and are adept with AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience designing power systems for water/wastewater or industrial facilities.
• EIT registration in California; CA PE preferred or able to obtain within 1 year.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and power distribution systems (120/208V and 277/480V).
• Intermediate knowledge of stand-by generator sizing.
• Intermediate knowledge of CSI specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

What You’ll Do

• Design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Support senior engineers in creating construction drawings, technical specifications, and reports.
• Perform calculations such as voltage drop, load studies, and conduit/cable sizing.
• Produce high-quality electrical design documentation using REVIT, CAD, and/or BIM software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Contribute to project planning, research, and design development.
• Follow Kennedy Jenks’ quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant experience designing power systems, power distribution, preferably in water, wastewater, or industrial waste treatment facilities.
• EIT registration required in the State of California; PE (CA) highly preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 year).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and power distribution systems (120/208V and 277/480V).
• Intermediate knowledge of stand‑by generator sizing.
• Intermediate knowledge of CSI specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to attend meetings with multidisciplinary engineering teams; be able to support multiple projects at different design stages.

Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000–$150,000 annually and may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
