Job description

Our mission is to create advanced robots that can operate in complex environments, reducing human risk in conflict zones and enhancing efficiency in labor-intensive industries.

We are on the lookout for extraordinary engineers and scientists to join our team. Your previous experience in robotics isn't a prerequisite — it's your talent and determination that truly count.

We expect that many of our team members will bring diverse perspectives from various industries and fields. We are looking for individuals with a proven record of exceptional ability and a history of creating things that work.

All positions are based in San Francisco.

Our Culture

We like to be frank and honest about who we are, so that people can decide for themselves if this is a culture they resonate with. Please read more about our culture here.

Who should join:
  • You like working in person with a team in San Francisco.
  • You deeply believe that this is the most important mission for humanity and needs to happen yesterday.
  • You are highly technical - regardless of the role you are in. We are building technology; you need to understand technology well.
  • You care about aesthetics and design inside out. If it's not the best product ever, it bothers you, and you need to “fix” it.
  • You don't need someone to motivate you; you get things done.
Why We Are Hiring for This Role:

We are building the most advanced humanoid robots, and electrical systems are at the heart of their intelligence and movement. This role is responsible for designing and developing all core electrical systems, including ECUs (Electronic Control Units), power distribution, sensors, embedded systems, and communication networks.

We need an exceptional engineer to:

  • Architect and develop the full electrical stack for our humanoid robot.
  • Design ECUs, power systems, and embedded control electronics that integrate with AI, actuators, and perception systems.
  • Ensure real-time, high-reliability communication between subsystems, including motor controllers, sensors, and onboard compute.
  • Scale hardware from prototyping to mass manufacturing while optimizing performance, safety, and cost.
  • Work closely with AI, software, and mechanical teams to build a seamlessly integrated system.
What Kind of Person We Are Looking For:
  • Deep expertise in designing and developing ECUs, power electronics, and embedded control systems.
  • Strong experience with real-time electrical architectures for robotics, automotive, or aerospace applications.
  • Expert in PCB design, high-speed digital and analog circuits, and power distribution networks.
  • Familiar with high-reliability communication protocols (CAN, RS485, EtherCAT) for robotic subsystems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electrical systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal integrity tools.
  • Experience in electrical safety, fault protection, and thermal management.
  • Comfortable leading prototype-to-production scaling for electrical hardware.
  • A hands-on, resourceful problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • 10+ years experience in electrical engineering, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or similar fields.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. PhD is a plus.
