Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN license preferred/required based on facility requirements.
• Previous SNF / LTC experience required.
• Experience as Staff Educator or related leadership roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SNF clinical practices, regulations, and quality standards.
• Experience developing and delivering nursing education and competency programs.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with nursing leadership.
• Comfortable providing education and coaching to staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff education and clinical training programs across both SNF locations.
• Develop and conduct orientation programs for new nursing employees.
• Coordinate and maintain ongoing in-service education for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff.
• Develop and evaluate clinical competencies to ensure staff meet required standards.
• Identify educational needs based on clinical trends, audits, incidents, quality indicators, and staff performance.
• Provide education related to infection prevention, medication management, documentation, resident safety, emergency procedures, and other SNF clinical topics.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and applicable SNF standards.
• Maintain accurate records of employee education, certifications, competencies, and required training.
• Partner with DONs, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to address training and performance needs.
• Support survey readiness through staff education and competency validation.
• Provide hands-on clinical education and coaching when needed.
• Monitor completion of required annual education and in-service training.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of education programs and make improvements as needed.
• Travel between the two Madison SNF locations as required.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Educator to oversee nursing education, staff development, and clinical competency programs across both Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) locations in Madison, Wisconsin.

This role will focus exclusively on the SNF nursing teams, ensuring staff is properly trained, competencies are maintained, and education programs support quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and facility standards.

• Experience developing and delivering nursing education and competency programs.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with nursing leadership.
