Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a talented DevOps Platform Developer to join a team building mission-critical systems for cybersecurity. You will design, implement and deploy infrastructure and tools to boost stability and velocity at scale.

Responsibilities include developing scalable infrastructures, enhancing development flow, and reducing time-to-market through automation and CI/CD excellence. Candidates should have cloud experience, automation skills, and hands-on tooling proficiency.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities with Python, Groovy, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and deploy scalable products and infrastructures.

Focused on development flow productivity, building application infrastructures and tools, with huge challenges related to hyper-growth of engineering and application scale

Life at Palo Alto Network
  • 2-5 years of hands‑on experience working as a Software, DevOps, or infrastructure developer
  • Deep knowledge and experience in cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Creative troubleshooting skills and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Extensive experience managing high-scale Jenkins clusters as code
  • Experience and understanding of software dependency supply chains
  • Experience in the creation of highly automated Infrastructures - as code
  • Experienced with building the full application release cycle (CI/CD)
  • Know your way around the open-source community
  • Experience with Containers and Orchestrators (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of operating system administration
  • Excellent design and analytical skills
  • Significant development experience with the following: Python, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell
  • Strong ability to use new technologies and understand them in depth through rapid self-learning
  • Highly motivated, autonomous
  • Open-minded, creative, out of the box thinker
  • A thorough and methodical approach to any task, ability to plan, conduct, prioritize, track and measure processes
  • Proactive by nature; internal drive for excellence and improvement
  • Strong communication skills, team player
  • Decision-making skills: taking into account both architectural and business considerations, at times with incomplete information
  • Experience in testing methodologies and developing tests (e.g Unit tests, integration tests, system tests)
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
  • Strong networking foundations (TCP/IP, DNS, Network Protocols, Routing)
  • Security principles and techniques (Risk management, threat modeling, secure configuration)
  • Database usage experience and understanding
  • Cloud Solution Architect Certificate
  • Experience with Agile development and practices
  • Must be a U.S Citizen or GreenCard holder for meeting with FedRAMP High authorized access requirements
