Full-Time Position
Responsibilities for Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist:
- Ensure the center has appropriate levels of staffing and nursing care at all times.
- Providing education to existing staff and ensuring medical documentation and education documents are orderly filed
- Running and assisting with employee training and orientation
- Assisting with admissions when needed, and with the overall flow of the nursing department and units
- Identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting trends in healthcare-associated infections.
- Collaborate with the facility teams and individuals to implement and sustain infection prevention strategies
- Ensure compliance with the facility infection prevention and control program
- Provide education and participate in the quality assessment and assurance committee.
Qualifications of Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist:
- Primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine required
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active LPN or RN license in this state.
- Prior Experience as a Staff Development Coordinator, or Infection Preventionist within a nursing center or healthcare setting.
- Ability to build strong relationships and gain support from staff.
- Associate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related field. Has completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.
- Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred.
