Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Ensure orientation and continuing education of nurses and nursing assistants as directed by the Director of Nursing Services and in compliance with approved Nursing Assistant Training program.
  • Coordinate orientation of all new employees to facility policies and procedures and State/Federal mandated policies and procedures; coordinate competency completion.
  • Coordinate necessary employment forms and documents.
  • Develop, coordinate, teach, facilitate and ensure 100% attendance at all mandatory in-services (infection control, fire prevention, OSHA safety, confidentiality, Resident Rights, etc.).
  • Assist in planning and implementing ongoing education and in servicing programs; ensure documentation is complete and filed.
  • Post monthly calendar of in-service programs by the first working day of each month.
  • Assist with monthly Quality Assurance reviews as directed by Director of Nursing Services.
  • Respect residents’ dignity, privacy and confidentiality; adhere to Residents’ Rights.
  • Maintain OSHA training, audits and manuals; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain employee education training health files and perform competency checks for nursing assistants.
  • Investigate employee incidents and provide solutions to prevent injuries.
  • Schedule and coordinate nursing assistant testing within required timeframes.
  • Display courteous, tactful, helpful behavior with residents, families, visitors and staff.
  • Participate in morning meetings, admission meetings, safety committee and OA committee.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Administrator or department directors.

Entry Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
