Job summary

Whitney Rehab Care Center is seeking an RN Staff Development professional to plan, organize, develop and direct all in-service educational programs across the facility. The role ensures compliance with applicable standards and strives to uphold the highest quality resident care at all times.

The position involves planning, directing, evaluating and coordinating training programs, and integrating instructional materials.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other department personnel.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing training practices.
  • Must possess the ability to plan and develop new programs.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents/staff.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, direct and coordinate all in-service educational programs facility-wide.
  • Incorporate training materials into existing programs as needed.
  • Provide leadership in formulating goals and objectives of the in-service programs.
  • Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs according to policies.
  • Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, manuals and reference materials for in-service programs.

Job description

RN Staff Development

The primary purpose of the job position is to plan, organize, develop and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the DNS, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Plan, develop, direct, evaluate and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.Incorporate commercially produced instruction material ad training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.

Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.

Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures

Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.

  1. Must possess a current, unencumbered, State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
  2. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  3. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  4. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
  5. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other department personnel.
  6. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing training practices.
  7. Must possess the ability to plan and develop new programs.
