Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. We are seeking a foundational Developer Experience Engineer to build scalable developer infrastructure for our autonomous transport initiative, spanning C++, Python, Go, Rust and embedded firmware.

You will reduce build friction, prevent dependency hell, and design secure OTA updates for edge vehicles, accelerating safe on-road autonomous transportation while collaborating with robotics, ML, and software teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Developer Experience, Build Engineering, or Infrastructure.
• Strong Python/C++/Go skills and knowledge of modern build systems.
• Experience scaling CI/CD, monorepos, and automated testing pipelines.
• Familiarity with embedded systems or IoT OS such as Balena/Yocto.
• Understanding OTA deployment pipelines for edge hardware.
• Ability to reduce build/test cycle times and fix flaky tests.
• Excellent communication across software, hardware, and robotics teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the CI/CD pipelines for multi-language repos (C++, Python, firmware).
• Optimize build systems, reduce times, ensure reproducible builds.
• Automate building/testing embedded firmware and vehicle OS.
• Design OTA deployment pipelines with staged rollouts and rollback.
• Decide repository architecture and artifact versioning.
• Integrate hardware-in-the-loop tests for release validation.
• Build developer observability tooling and monitor build health.
