Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain robust data pipelines from authoritative sources to power metrics and analytics.

You will lead a division analytics team, guide data engineers, and ensure data is accessible for analysts and stakeholders across the division. This role emphasizes mentorship, engineering excellence, and delivering production-quality ETL/ELT solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 12 years professional experience with Bachelors in Science; 10 years with Masters; 8 years with PhD or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Neo4j, Tableau, AWS and related data engineering tools.
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining production-quality data ETL/ELT pipelines from APIs, custom code, and other extraction methods
• Experience handling structured and unstructured data and using database management systems.
• Experience with distributed (cloud) data storage structures, local databases, and other data storage forms.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Division Analytics Chief Data Engineer, frontend data visualization specialists, and product stakeholders by developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines from authoritative data sources needed for metrics and analytics.
• Oversee both long-range goals and near-term objectives of the Division Analytics team related to collecting, managing, and converting raw data into usable information for business analysts to interpret and for division-wide accessibility.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to guide junior data engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion engineering best practices.
