Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Data Engineer in the United States to help build an end-to-end data platform from the ground up. You will design near real-time data pipelines and AI-ready infrastructure, integrating data from CRM, financial, HR, and operations systems.

You will shape architecture, governance, and reliability practices while enabling AI-powered reporting and semantic search across the data ecosystem. This senior role emphasizes ownership and autonomous delivery in a lean environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a focus on streaming/event-driven architectures.
• Production-grade near real-time pipelines using Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Debezium or similar.
• Experience with vector databases and embedding infrastructure (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Milvus, Zilliz).
• Embedding strategies for AI-powered use cases.
• Advanced SQL and Python proficiency.
• Cloud warehouses/lakehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) and dbt experience.
• End-to-end production data environment experience, autonomous data engineering role.
• Familiarity with B2B SaaS data models (ARR, CAC, churn).
• BI/Reporting tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with ELT/ETL tools (Fivetran, Airbyte).
• Data observability and reliability practices.
• Experience with AI-augmented development tools (Claude, Copilot).
• Ability to work independently and manage multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building new infra with limited foundations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own near real-time data pipelines using CDC and streaming ingestion.
• Evaluate and maintain vector database infrastructure for semantic search and AI apps.
• Build ELT/ETL pipelines from CRM, financial, HRIS, and ops systems.
• Architect warehouse/lakehouse as system of record beneath streaming/AI infra.
• Develop lightweight transformations with dbt for reliable datasets.
• Own data pipeline reliability, observability, and failure recovery.
• Support self-service and AI-powered reporting with BI collaborations.
• Implement data governance: documentation, access controls, lineage, data quality.
• Collaborate with Finance/Marketing/Operations to translate requirements into data products.
• Leverage AI-augmented tools to accelerate development and testing.
