Job summary

Walmart is seeking a senior data engineering leader to design and operate billion-scale distributed data systems that power Walmart's global AdTech and MarTech platforms. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, drive latency and reliability targets, and mentor engineers across teams delivering advertising solutions at scale.

You will leverage Spark, Kafka, BigQuery, and cloud-native tools to create reusable, tenant-aware data foundations, while focusing on privacy, observability, and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years software/data engineering experience.
• Alternative: 6+ years of software/data engineering experience.
• Masters+2 years in software/data engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own major capabilities across ad events, campaigns, identity, audiences, and reporting.
• Build high-throughput streaming and near-real-time pipelines with replay and idempotency.
• Define latency, freshness, quality, and reliability objectives.
• Create reusable, tenant-aware frameworks for multiple businesses and markets.
• Optimize Spark, Kafka, BigQuery, Dataproc, storage, and orchestration.
• Strengthen data quality, lineage, observability, testing, and incident response.
• Lead domain design reviews and mentor engineers across global ad products.
