Ripple is building a world where value moves with the ease of information. We seek a Staff Software Engineer for the Data Engineering team in San Francisco, CA to define ingestion, transformation, governance, and data quality across the Caspian Data Platform.

You’ll stay hands-on, shape architecture, and raise the bar for the team. You’ll lead core pillar designs, set patterns for Databricks pipelines, drive AI integrations, and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross-functional partners

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience with hands-on data platforms.
• Deep mastery of Databricks including Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake and Spark.
• Ownership of ingestion, transformation, governance, and data quality across a production platform.
• Expertise in SQL and Python for complex data modeling and tooling.
• Strong AWS experience operating data systems at scale.
• History of lifting team standards and engineering quality.
• Experience driving AI tooling into data workflows and pipelines.
• Ability to influence through credibility and translate tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of the platform pillars — ingestion, transformation, governance, and data quality.
• Define patterns and reference architectures for Databricks pipelines; ship production flows.
• Establish data quality benchmarks, contracts, lineage, and validation frameworks.
• Lead complex initiatives spanning multiple quarters and teams.
• Steer the application of AI across data engineering and automate workflows.
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering judgment and ownership.
