Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Engineering team to own the Caspian Data Platform, building production-grade ETL pipelines end-to-end and shaping data models across multiple domains. You’ll drive architectural decisions, mentor peers, and raise the bar for reliability and cost efficiency.

You will work with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and AI tooling to enable scalable analytics, reporting, and data-driven operations across the business.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on data engineering experience building and maintaining production pipelines and data models.
• Deep proficiency with Databricks or similar platforms — Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and PySpark or Spark SQL.
• Strong SQL skills: complex transformations, incremental materialization, schema evolution, and data quality validation.
• Solid AWS experience relevant to building and operating data systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering — ingestion, transformation, testing, and utility tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
• Exposure to AI tooling in a data context — agents, code generation, or self-serve analytics workflows.
• Ability to take ambiguous requirements and design scalable data models and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production ETL pipelines on Databricks using Delta Live Tables and Spark.
• Own data modelling across layers to serve reliable business metrics and downstream consumption.
• Drive technical design for multi-team projects with clear architecture and rollout plans.
• Build pipeline observability: failure detection, alerting, retries, and operational hygiene.
• Integrate AI tooling into data workflows for automation and data access.
• Mentor engineers and review code and designs to grow ownership.
• Contribute to platform infrastructure via Terraform and Unity Catalog data contracts and access controls.
